Optomi’s Chicago Team volunteers at Journeys: The Road Home and Feed My Starving Children

Optomi’s Chicago branch had an incredibly successful day yesterday giving back to our community at not one, but TWO, different organizations! They started their day off at the HOPE Center at Journeys, The Road Home in Palatine, IL. The HOPE Center is a day resource center that provides free services to the homeless and those at risk of becoming homeless.

The team broke off into 3 groups, organizing food pantries, sorting donated clothes, helping the event coordinator with their Bid for HOPE event, and serving Chik-Fil-A to the clients that came to the HOPE Center for a warm meal.

The team made their way to Feed My Starving Children in Schaumburg, IL where they packed 113 boxes of food, which consisted of 24,408 meals, and feeds 66 kids in Cuba for a year!!!

What a humbling experience it was to help our community on a local and global scale!
