THE DETROIT TEAM SERVES AT THE INNER CITY THE SOUP KITCHEN FOR OPT2GIVE 2015
November 6, 2015

Optomi has a big heart for those in need, which is why we spent the day volunteering at the Inner City the Soup Kitchen. The company partners with food banks across the country that gather and pack perfectly good food and deliver it to hungry kids and families who need it most. The partnership demonstrates the GIVING philosophy of Optomi. During its annual Opt2give day on November 5th, the Detroit Optomi team served the morning at Gleaners Community Food Bank of Southeastern Michigan by packing backpacks of food for children. They spent the afternoon serving at the Capuchin Soup Kitchen.

By the end of 2015, IT staffing firm Optomi will have fed over 1,500 children in the U.S. who would otherwise go to bed hungry every day. Meals given to these children total over 9,000. According to the organization Feeding America, one in 5 children struggles with hunger. Optomi is committed to alleviating this hunger epidemic. The firm is breaking new ground in the staffing industry with its giving back philosophy.

The IT staffing firm believes that a culture of “doing the right thing” is good business. The company chooses to use its business as a driver for charitable contributions.

A Fortune 500 utilities company faced several challenges with running its Cyber Security Operations Center (CSOC). After evaluating the situation with their prior managed security service provider (MSSP), the client realized the MSSP did not have the appropriate access or authorization to investigate alerts off-site. This was extremely important for the client as they had multiple security protocols in place, meaning that investigations of alerts and escalations required on-site authorization or full-time employee (FTE) access.
